Picking up where Star Wars: The Clone Wars left off, the next animated series set in the Star Wars Galaxy is Star Wars: The Bad Batch.

The animated series follows Clone Force 99, the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (which we last saw in Star Wars: The Clone Wars). The stormtrooper clones face a changing galaxy which is struggling with the events of the Clone Wars.

What sets members of the Bad Batch apart is, as the name suggests, a different batch of genetics from their brothers in the Clone army. This gives them each a unique exceptional skill which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew.

Dave Filoni returns to animation as the show runner for The Bad Batch. Filoni had been busy with the groundbreaking TV streaming series The Mandalorian,

Disney+ and Lucasfilm announced today, that the new series will debut on Star Wars Day, aka May the 4th. The second episode will follow on Friday May 7 and subsequent episodes will premere on Fridays.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is executive produced by Dave Filoni (The Mandalorian, Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Athena Portillo (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), Brad Rau (Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Resistance) and Jennifer Corbett (Star Wars Resistance, NCIS) with Carrie Beck (The Mandalorian, Star Wars Rebels) as co-executive producer and Josh Rimes as producer (Star Wars Resistance). Rau is also serving as supervising director with Corbett as head writer.
