Marvel Studios “Loki” series on Disney Plus scores a premiere date

Screengrab from Loki

We still don’t know much about “Loki,” the Marvel Studios series coming to Disney+, but we do have a premiere date now. Loki will bring his mischief to Disney+ starting June 11, 2021.

We do know that the show picks up after Loki makes his escape using the tesseract, aka the space stone, in Avengers: Endgame. We also know that there will be some element of alternate timelines having impact on our heroes as Loki bounces around in the story.

By stealing the space stone, Loki created an alternate timeline. It will be interesting to see what fun Marvel has cooked up for that idea. Remember this Loki was still more of a villain than an antihero.

Watch an clip from the Marvel Studios series:

Tom Hiddleston looks amazing and his Loki is so much fun to watch. Sadly, the first season of Loki will only have six hour-long episodes. That seems like it will require some pretty tight storytelling to satisfy fans.

The show is also listed as a limited series (think mini-series). That usually means it’s one season and done. But never say never with Marvel, right?
