Disney on Ice show shut down after COVID outbreak at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City according to Kansas City news! The beloved Disney ice skating entertainment show was due to present six more shows at the T-Mobile Centre in Kansas City, from Friday through to Sunday. However, these have now been cancelled by the city’s Health Department due to violation of pandemic rules as well as failing to report a COVID-19 outbreak among its staff. Therefore as a way to protect Kansas City families and residents attending the Disney on Ice show, the Health Department cancelled further showings.
According to Kansas City news, the Kansas City Health Department believed that the outbreak was only spread between performers and crew and apparently not spread to spectators. Apparently this information was revealed on Wednesday due to an “unrelated inspection of a hotel in Kansas City”, where the Health Department learned of some Disney on Ice personnel who tested positive for the virus. Further investigations revealed that at least five staff members were confirmed positive and six more were self-isolating as a result! Likewise, there appeared to be some inconsistencies around the outbreak, including “conflicting and inaccurate numbers of positive tests, numbers of individuals in quarantine and testing dates” according to the Health Department Order. It seems that the source of the outbreak could have come from a staff member who failed to quarantine for the full 14 days after being in close contact with someone infected with COVID-19. By ending their quarantine early, they had close contact with three of their work colleagues who subsequently tested positive that week.
HOW TO GET REFUNDS
Within an hour of the Kansas City Health Department publishing their statement that Disney on Ice show shut down after COVID outbreak. T-Mobile Center released a tweet to confirm that the rest of the tour leg of Kansas City will be cancelled. Check out the tweet below:
The remaining performances of @DisneyOnIce scheduled to take place at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City from Friday, Feb. 5 through Sunday, Feb. 7 have been canceled.

According to their website, it says that “ticket holders who paid with credit cards would be automatically refunded. Guests who purchased tickets with cash at the box office can present them there for refunds”. Unfortunately, many families were left disappointed, particularly due to the little notice of the cancellation. T-Mobile Center website says the production company “apologizes to our fans for any inconvenience and thanks them for understanding and that we look forward to sharing the same magical experience of Disney On Ice to our fans and their families during a future return to Kansas City and the T-Mobile Center.”
Tickets are still on sale for the tour’s next stop, scheduled for Feb. 11-21 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
