Anthony Mackie Says Marvel Can Never Recast Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther

Black Panther

Anthony Mackie thinks it would be a mistake for Marvel to recast Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther. Boseman made his debut as T’Challa in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. His Black Panther quickly became a fan favorite in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially after the character’s solo film in 2018.

Anthony Mackie says “nobody” could replace his Avengers co-star Chadwick Boseman as Marvel’s Black Panther. You can see part of his video interview below.

Chadwick Boseman

Since the actor’s death, there has been a lot of conversation about Black Panther’s cinematic future. Especially because of how central Boseman is to the superhero. Though Black Panther 2 is currently in the works and set to release in 2022, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has made it clear Boseman won’t be recast as T’Challa.
